About Caring Transitions
Caring Transitions of Englishtown & Marlboro helps individuals, seniors, and families navigate life's major transitions with compassion, professionalism, and practical solutions.
We specialize in senior relocation, downsizing, estate sales, online auctions through CTBids, cleanouts, and move management. Whether we're helping a senior transition into an assisted living community, supporting a family through estate liquidation, or preparing a property for sale, our mission is to make life's transitions easier.
We're expanding our presence throughout Monmouth and Middlesex Counties and are looking for an ambitious, outgoing, and results-driven Business Development Manager to help us grow our referral network, strengthen community partnerships, and generate new business opportunities.
About the Role
This is not a traditional desk-based sales position.
We're looking for a natural relationship builder who thrives on meeting people, opening doors, and creating opportunities.
As our Business Development Manager, you'll be the face of Caring Transitions in the community. You'll develop trusted relationships with senior living communities, real estate professionals, elder law attorneys, healthcare organizations, and other local referral partners.
Your primary responsibility will be to build a strong, consistent pipeline of qualified referrals that turn into paying clients.
This is a highly independent, field-based position for someone who enjoys networking, developing partnerships, and taking ownership of measurable business growth.
We're looking for someone who doesn't need to be told whom to contact, where to go, or how to build relationships. You should be proactive, resourceful, organized, and comfortable creating opportunities from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Referral Generation
Identify, approach, and develop relationships with new referral partners throughout Monmouth and Middlesex Counties.
Establish partnerships with senior living communities, assisted living facilities, independent living communities, and memory care providers.
Build relationships with senior living sales directors, placement advisors, elder law attorneys, estate planning professionals, realtors, financial advisors, geriatric care managers, and healthcare professionals.
Conduct regular in-person visits, meetings, and follow-ups with prospective and existing referral partners.
Proactively identify opportunities for downsizing, relocation, estate liquidation, cleanouts, and online auctions.
Convert professional relationships into a consistent flow of qualified client referrals.
Maintain and expand relationships with existing referral partners to generate repeat business.
Community Outreach & Networking
Represent Caring Transitions at local networking events, Chamber of Commerce meetings, professional associations, and community gatherings.
Organize educational workshops, presentations, and partnership events for senior living communities and local organizations.
Develop creative outreach initiatives that increase awareness of Caring Transitions and its services.
Identify opportunities to collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and senior-focused businesses.
Serve as a knowledgeable and professional representative of our brand throughout the territory.
Lead Generation & Client Development
Generate and qualify new business opportunities through networking, partnerships, and direct outreach.
Schedule consultations with prospective clients and families.
Communicate our services and value proposition clearly to prospective clients and referral partners.
Support proposal development, client follow-ups, and the conversion of qualified leads into signed projects.
Collaborate closely with ownership and operations to ensure a smooth handoff of new clients.
Identify additional business opportunities within existing referral relationships.
Pipeline Management & Performance
Maintain accurate records of outreach, meetings, referral partners, and business opportunities using CRM tools.
Track qualified referrals, consultations, conversion rates, and revenue generated from business development efforts.
Develop and execute a structured weekly outreach plan.
Provide regular updates on pipeline activity, partnership development, and business growth.
Take ownership of individual performance goals and continuously improve outreach strategies based on results.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is confident, personable, persistent, and genuinely enjoys building relationships.
The ideal candidate:
Has demonstrated success in business development, outside sales, community outreach, or professional referral development.
Is comfortable initiating conversations, making introductions, and approaching new organizations independently.
Has experience developing relationships that lead to measurable business opportunities.
Is naturally outgoing, persuasive, resourceful, and self-motivated.
Understands how to build long-term referral partnerships rather than relying on one-time sales.
Is comfortable networking with senior living executives, healthcare professionals, real estate agents, and business owners.
Can manage their own schedule, prioritize opportunities, and follow through consistently.
Has strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Is results-oriented and comfortable being accountable for measurable business development goals.
Can work independently while collaborating effectively with ownership and the operations team.
We value initiative, accountability, and proven results over job titles alone.
Preferred Qualifications

Senior living sales, admissions, or community relations
Assisted living, independent living, or memory care business development
Healthcare outreach or medical referral development
Home care, hospice, or geriatric care services

Requirements
Relevant experience in business development, sales, community relations, or a related field.
Ability to travel regularly throughout Monmouth and Middlesex Counties.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and maintain an organized pipeline of business opportunities.
Comfort using CRM software, email, and other business productivity tools.

A successful Business Development Manager will:

Develop active relationships with senior living communities and other professional referral sources.
Generate a growing pipeline of qualified client opportunities.
Convert outreach efforts into scheduled consultations and new projects.
