Position Overview
The Estate Sale Lead is responsible for leading the setup and execution of estate sale projects while ensuring organization, efficiency, and a positive customer experience. This role requires strong organizational skills, leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage staff, timelines, and project execution while maintaining Caring Transitions standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Estate Sale Setup
• Lead the physical setup of estate sales including organizing, sorting, staging, pricing, and merchandising items
• Remove items from cabinets, closets, shelves, hutches, and storage areas to create appealing displays
• Arrange tables, shelving, and displays to maximize visibility and shopping flow
• Ensure all items are properly tagged and categorized
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout setup
• Assist with organizing sale spaces to maximize customer flow and shopping experience
Team Leadership
• Guide and direct setup staff while assigning responsibilities throughout projects
• Ensure team members are working efficiently within allotted project hours to ensure deadlines are met
• Utilize limited Google Lens and research to assist with item identification and pricing when necessary
• Assist with training newer team members on setup standards and processes
• Communicate project progress, concerns, and potential timeline impacts to Leadership
Project Management
• Work within project timelines and assigned labor budgets
• Maintain strict adherence to project hours and staffing plans
• Identify potential issues that may impact project completion timelines
• Assist with project planning and execution to ensure deadlines are met
• Ensure projects remain organized and on track from setup through completion
Marketing and Communication
• Provide all project photos and brief item descriptions to Leadership in a timely manner to ensure marketing deadlines are met
• Support content collection for estate sale marketing across EstateSales.org, EstateSales.net, Facebook, and other marketing channels
• Work with Leadership to craft messaging and content for emails distributed through the Caring Transitions
database
Sale Execution
• Assist with sale day operations including customer interaction, crowd management, and maintaining merchandise displays
• Help restock tables and maintain organization throughout sale days
• Identify items requiring management attention or pricing review
• Place estate sale directional signs throughout approved locations prior to sale opening and remove all signage promptly following the sale
• Interact with customers throughout the sale to build relationships and encourage email list sign ups
• Encourage satisfied customers to provide 5-star reviews based upon their experience during the sale
• Assist with checkout processes and customer questions as needed
Qualifications
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to lift, move, and carry boxes, furniture, and household items
• Comfortable standing, bending, climbing stairs, and working in residential environments
• Ability to lead small teams and provide direction
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable using smartphones, apps, and basic technology for project work
• Previous retail, merchandising, moving, estate sale, leadership, or customer service experience preferred but not required

Schedule Requirements
• Hours vary based on project schedules
• Some early mornings may be required
• Schedule flexibility required based upon project needs
Pay: Starts at $23. Bumped up to $25 after 90 Days.
