Position: Transition Services Specialist
Schedule: Part-Time / Project-Based
Hours: Primarily weekday daytime hours, with occasional additional hours depending on client projects
Compensation: $16-20/hour starting pay
As a Transition Services Specialist, no two days will look exactly alike. Depending on the project, you may:
- Pack, unpack, sort, organize, and carefully handle household belongings
- Help clients prepare for downsizing or relocation
- Must have reliable smartphone and be comfortable using mobile apps for work-related communication and tasks
- Assist with moves and resettling clients into their new homes
- Stage, organize, and support estate sales
- Photograph, inventory, and prepare items for online auctions
- Sort belongings for sale, donation, recycling, distribution to family, or disposal
- Assist with home cleanouts
- Organize workspaces and project areas to keep jobs moving efficiently
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and families
- Identify problems and help the team find solutions
- Work collaboratively to complete projects safely, efficiently, and with exceptional attention to detail
You don’t need to come to us knowing everything about senior relocation or estate sales. We can teach processes and systems. What matters most is how you show up.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Genuinely enjoys helping people
- Is dependable and arrives ready to contribute
- Takes pride in doing things the right way
- Notices what needs to be done and steps in to help
- Can follow a plan while also adapting when circumstances change
- Communicates respectfully with clients, families, and coworkers
- Takes ownership rather than waiting for someone else to solve the problem
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Is organized and pays attention to details
- Is comfortable learning technology, smartphones, and mobile apps
- Welcomes feedback and opportunities to learn
- Brings a positive, solutions-oriented attitude
- Has reliable transportation
Because this is active, hands-on work, team members must be able to:
- Lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Bend, kneel, reach, and climb stairs
- Remain active for extended periods during projects
- Work in homes of varying sizes and conditions
- Occasionally work outdoors as projects require
About Us:At Caring Transitions, we help individuals and families navigate some of life’s biggest changes. That may mean downsizing a longtime home, preparing for a move, organizing belongings, managing an estate sale, coordinating a cleanout, or helping someone settle comfortably into a new space.
For our clients, these aren’t simply projects. They are personal transitions, often involving decades of memories and sometimes a great deal of emotion.
We’re looking for dependable, compassionate, energetic people who enjoy serving others, working with a team, solving problems, and leaving things better than they found them.
