What services does Caring Transitions of Virginia Beach East Provide? We are dedicated to making a genuine difference in the lives of Seniors and their families, specializing in helping minimize stress for Seniors, non-seniors, and their families in times of major and often over-whelming life changes with services of downsizing, organizing, decluttering, move management, relocating Seniors to new beginnings, online auctions (CTBids) and home sales preparation. We also help families that are facing divorce, death, disability and other major life changes. Our services assist realtors, retirement communities, attorneys, and others and we do it with a smile, compassion and professionalism.

Position Overview: Position includes providing caring and exceptional service for relocations and transitions, organizing, decluttering, and safely pack, unpack, and resettle clients in their new living environment. Treasures and items too numerous to take when the client downsizes are then used to create engaging and detailed online auction listings (CTBids). On auction pick-up day, ensure a positive pickup experience for winning bidders with item pickup accuracy. (Please note: Note that we are not movers! We use professional movers for furniture and heavy items.)
What You'll be Doing:
Work on a team to downsize, relocate clients, and assist with estate liquidation of unneeded items and collected treasures
Organize, pack, and assist clients with unpacking and setting up in their new living space to including furniture arrangement and organizing belongings.
Sort items for estate liquidation: selling, recycling, donations, disposal and clean-outs
Physical capability to stand for long periods, repetitive bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, no lifting over 30 pounds, hang items at or above 4 feet, pack/unpack and label boxes. Carry supplies, items and moving boxes within the home or building. Get in steps and strength-training while you work!
Walking and/or standing in varying weather conditions
Online auction preparation (CTBids)
Sort, organize, research, label and stage treasures for re-sale
Use smart device to photograph, create descriptions and post items for sale
Be available for on-site auction pick-ups. Help prep, stage, and assist buyers during pickup days
Help ship items purchased through online auctions
Follow best practices, health and safety requirements and company guidelines.
Interact with clients, their families and other coworkers while providing a high level of customer service to clients and customers.
Requirements:
In general: Ideal candidates have impeccable organizational skills, are highly motivated, can work weekends when necessary, are quick learners, can adapt to new situations, lift up to 30 pounds, have a smart phone, excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, work independently while working with your team, and have reliable transportation
Strong written and verbal communication. Fluent in English.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to ever changing unique job locations that include sorting, packing, unpacking and house clean-outs. Ability to meet deadlines. Every day is different, unlike a 9-5 job where it can get mundane.
Comfortable working in cluttered and/or dirty environments at times (houses may have been empty over a period of time). We provide work gloves, aprons, etc.
Experience working with older adults is a plus
No specific experience required, but a background in customer service or care-related roles is a plus
Understand the value of people's 'treasures' and like to take pictures to create detailed online auction listings
Must have exceptional customer service skills and a professional demeanor, compassion and respect for clients and team members, whether assisting clients in their homes or assisting customers at the auction pick-ups. Warm and friendly customer service is essential.

Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to be able to meet on the various job site locations throughout Virginia Beach, Alanton, Pungo, Norfolk and surrounding areas. Must be punctual.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and be prepared to start training immediately upon hiring

Position Details:
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14 starting pay; evaluation after 90 days
Benefits: Flexible schedule. We respect your time, offering you a flexible schedule that fits your busy lifestyle
Schedule: Work daytime hours, Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays
Work hours: 4-6 hour shifts; Project-based and may be 10-30+ hours per week with other weeks having zero or minimal hours.
Availability: Must be available for CTBids online auction pickups.
